Woven Fabric Consumption Formula

Woven Fabric Consumption Formula

Before calculate the woven fabric consumption, you must need the followings information as mentioned below:

1) Measurement chart with technical spec.
2) Style Description.
3) Fabric Description.
4) Fabrics width/weight.
5) Washing shrinkage if any.

Consumption Formula For Basic Shirt:

At first find out the below point:

Body Length (BL) = Body Length + BK Part Yoke Length /2 + BTM Hem (Rolling) Length + Seam allowance. (In case of wash garments, washing allowance to be added)

Sleeve Length (SL) = Sleeve length + Cuff Width + Seam allowance. (In case of wash garments, washing allowance to be added)

Body Width (BW) = Chest width + Plate Width + Seam allowance. (In case of wash garments, washing allowance to be added)

                    (BL + SL) X BW x2 + (Area of Any Extra Fabric)

Formula = --------------------------------------------------------------------------- x 12 + Wastage%

                                Fabric Width X Conversion Unit

Suppose:
BL = 32" + 6” (YL)/2 + 1” (BH) + 1" (SA) = 37"
SL = 23" + 2.5" (CW) + 1.5" (SA) = 27"
BW = 24" + 3" (PW) + 1" (S.A) = 28"
Fabric Width = 44”

                                  (37 + 27) X 28 x2

F. Consumption = ------------------------- x 12 + 5%

                                         44 X 36

                            = ?  Yds / Doz

Consumption Formula For Basic Pant:

At first find out the below point:

Side Seam Length (SSL) = Side length (Without West Band) + West Band Width + BTM Leg Rolling + Seam allowance. (In case of wash garments, washing allowance to be added)

Body Width (BW) = ½ Thigh Width + Seam allowance. (In case of wash garments, washing allowance to be added)

                     SSL X BW x 4 + (Area of Any Extra Fabric)

Formula = ---------------------------------------------------------------- X 12 + Wastage%

                               Fabric Width X Conversion Unit

Suppose:
SSL = 20" + 6" (WB & BTM) + 2" (SA) = 28"
BW = 8" (TH) + 2" (S.A) = 10"
Fabric Width = 60”

                                  (28 + 10) X 4

F. Consumption = ------------------------- X 12 + 5%

                                         60 X 36

                            =  ? Yds/ Doz
